Something fun I thought I’d share…I created a playlist around All the Lies That I Have Told. For each song, I added three songs that are essential to our song’s existence. This is obviously a vastly incomplete list, but hopefully you’ll have a little fun discovering the connections between others’ music and mine. The connections may be lyrical, musical, thematic, or even just some small, vague threads. (For example…I’ve always misheard the lyrics of Thom Yorke’s “Harrowdown Hill,” and the wrong lyrics I’d heard felt so sad and accusatory. That feeling carried into “In the Nighttime,” and here we are.)
The playlist is on Spotify…
…and Apple Music…
I hope you enjoy the experience, and that you’re enjoying the album so far. (Also, if you haven’t heard the album on its own yet, you can hear it on Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud…just about everywhere. To learn more about it, including reading the lyrics (so you don’t make my Thom Yorke mistake) and finding out who played what, you can check out the album’s page.
